Jan-Hendrik "Wörn" Werner is a multi-disciplinary design vagabond, who is interconnected between different fields ranging from apparel design, to art direction, footwear topics, advertisement, and back to communication and art.
He never outgrew his passion for design, art, technology and the understanding of a recent zeitgeist & culture. In the industry for more than 12 years, without plans to stop. He stays connected 24/7, and will be ongoing.
Born & raised in Niedersachsen, northern Germany. Socialized on Punkrock, Hardcore and a fair portion of Emo and New Wave, I started to touch Design first in a booking agency, where I was asked to layout tour– and gig-posters for bands like The Casualties, Hot Water Music or Tiger Lou. I also wrote countless music reviews for their online music magazine and was ever since even closer to music and it's genres and (sub)culture.
Later on I started an apprenticeship in an advertising agency where I mastered my basic design skills, got a taste of composing & retouching, photo-shootings, type & Logo-Design. In parallel I already started to build own brands, did project-work for clients, and did a deep dive into fashion and streetwear.
My next station happened to be Franconia, working for the three stripes in a continuous rotation from Originals design, to women, over to kids design and also on the performance side of the business. I had the challenging opportunities to also work on the look and feel of the brand a lot.
My growing involvement in cultural topics & connecting dots and people, earned me more freelance opportunities and credibility. In 2020 I consciously decided to reduce hours in my full-time job and invest more time and energy into working on my own vision and brand. 2023 it's finally "go-time" and I threw myself out of comfort into a new challenge, focusing on commissioned work, workshops, mentoring and close-to-heart projects.
